Earthquake Task Force Reports No Injuries Among Students and Faculty Members from Hokkaido Earthquake

No students or faculty members at the Hokkaido-area colleges were injured and no buildings sustained damage in the earthquake that occurred at 9:22 PM on February 21. The earthquake, registering a lower 6 on the Japanese seismic scale, originated in the Iburi region of Hokkaido. The student dormitories and nursing homes, including La Deesse Megumino, escaped damage as well.
Classes were held as usual on the morning of February 22 at Hokkaido College of High Technology, Hokkaido Eco College of Wildlife and Nature, Hokkaido College of Medical Sports, Sapporo Belle epoque College of Beauty, Sapporo Belle epoque College of Confectionery and Culinary, Sapporo Hotel Wedding College, Sapporo Broadcasting and Music Dance College, and Sapporo School of Anime.
Some schools have already started spring break while some departments are in Italy for the study abroad program. The safety of these students who are not going to the school is being confirmed.
